As for the whole nature debate, I understand that yes, this kind of stuff happens all the timein the wild, but I believe that we should not be the cause of it. Humans already cause enough damage as it is.
This person is lacking something called compassion, one emotion that is supposed to set us apart from animals. Compassion, that thing that makes you put an animal it out of its misery if it's suffering, like finding a dying animal on the road that's been hit by a car. Even though euthanasia is a terrible thing to have to perform, it's best for the animal if it's in pain.
I HATED having to euthanize some mice a while back, even though my method was quick and humane. I was afraid that I would make a mistake and I would actually cause the poor thing to suffer for a few seconds. (My hubby was actually amused by me, wandering around the house all upset trying to talk myself into doing it)
Why are there so many people who actually take joy in doing things like that? It's not natural to enjoy another creature's suffering.
Also, why do people get fines and go to jail for cruelty to say, DOGS or CATS but not for cruelty to mice, fish, reptiles, etc?
Anyway, I'm rambling and ranting and probably not making much sense, it's late and I'm tired, my brain is not working as well as it should.
^^^ This did make me lol.
Good night all.
PS: It would only be OK if the turtle would not eat anything other than live mice and was starving itself. I highly doubt this was the case.

A lot of pet store owners would probably be in jail right now lol. But I completely agree...
