Re: Brutal... o_O

Revenant, totally different. And I said earlier I'm ignorant about snappers so I don't know what their natural diet would consist of, besides me when I had to remove them from being close to my house and place them toward the back of my property.

As I said, I was playing devil's advocate for a bit. Not that I condone that gif or any video of barbaric feeding of any animal.

Now that I know that mice aren't a normal part of their diet, I'm disgusted even further. This is no different than video that went viral of some boy feeding his burm a kitten.

How so? Where do you find the total differences?

If you don't want to hash it out, I understand. I just see a lot of people creating artificial situations for jollies and justifying it with "bu-bu-but NATURE!" when it's simply not. I also think we should try to hold ourselves to a higher standard than that evil witch mother nature. While mimicking her in some ways is good, in others we can do much better by our animals and our hobbies. For instance, I do anything I can to prevent undue suffering in the feeders that have to die for my hobby, and don't make my snakes prove their suitability for survival by facing off against higher predators.

Exactly what I said above. Vets and medicine, our herps not facing off against predators, etc.

Yeah this is the exact mentality people use to justify their stupidity.
Wel said.

Mice are a part of many aquatic animals diet just not a staple. Now a duckling is like potatoes to a snapper. They just gotta have 'em.
