To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.

If anyone can chime in,

I bought this pair about a month ago, set them up right, both are active, feisty eaters, already hand feeding.

I've noticed my female is "chubby" the past few days, and I thought, hmm maybe she's hogging all the food.. but I see both eat plenty. Then I caught her poop a few times, still no weight loss. HMMMM

Then last night, I caught her at an angle, which revealed 2 small pea shapes in her lower abdomen, right in front of the rear legs! Could she be? Here is a run down of my enclosure;

24"x16"x16" (interior dimensions)
Ambient gradient of 80-95 top to bottom
Consistant %80 humidity
Basking surface of 97-98 (they both use it)
Misting twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening (just for hydration)
Live planted pothos, So much coverage they don't know what to do with.

This pair is very secure, comfortable, and active, and always bright.

Age: I honestly have no idea, I personally thought they weren't of age, But size makes sense... Male is about 3", and female about 2.5".

I've caught the two courting, and playing tag multiple times, but never seen them locked up. Anywho, I'll let the pictures speak

If anyone has info, or tips on how to deal with stickers, feel free!

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.

This might not apply to these guys, but isn't it generally advised not to keep males and females together if they're not of age because the females can become pregnant too young which is bad for them? I honestly don't know which is why I'm asking (and you said you didn't think they were of age but you didn't give an actual age).

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.

I've read the geckos have no interest in the eggs. I would rather expose them to direct enclosure climates then seal them off just yet.

The female is not protective of the eggs, her duty is just to lay them, and hope for a snack in a few months :P

I have mourning geckos, and they apparently do eat the eggs, so I'll have to cup them. But I'm concerned that'll alter the temperature/humidity levels they're exposed to. =/
