Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
So apparently,
its possible to influence the sex of the offspring, via incubation temperatures.
72-77, will hatch out females
80-85, will be a 50/50
85+, males.
So they say, which is very cool, but aggravating at the same time. I want two more females, so I can have a reliable trio. Then I really don't care.
My female layed the eggs, on a surface temp of 89... urgh lol I do not want to risk moving the eggs, so I will let this one pan out naturally, and we'll go from there

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
Did you continuously monitor the area to get the 89? If so it could have been at a spike or something. Also it is not surface temp it is ambient temp so that will be lower.

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
Ok just double checking. But since you used a temp gun you got the surface temp which is not what you want. Get a digital probe and stick it in the air right next to the eggs and continuously monitor that.

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
Yes, they will be housed in my spare 12x12 cube until they're of age to sex, then I'll part ways with males and keep females.

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
Hi
I used to breed the Lygo family some time ago, all three of those readily available are prolific little geckos.
I found they do best in 1.1 pairs, even finding females not overly friendly with other females.
Its pointless trying to remove eggs that have adhered to the side of the viv, I never once witnessed any babies getting eaten that hatched in the viv, although I did move them whenever I got the chance to rearing vivs.

Re: To The Dwarf Gecko Breeders.
Roughly how many did you hatch out Paul? And what temperatures? Did you document the male/female hatch ratio in regards to temperature?
