Will my snake die?

Hey guys, so I've heard that if you hold your snake a lot it will die a lot sooner than normal. Is this true? What if the snake doesn't show any sign of stress or discomfort when you're holding it? Will it still die a lot sooner from holding it a lot? Please give as accurate answers as you can, thanks everyone

Yep it'll be dead by next week if you hold it everyday....

Op- Holding it more will stress it out which could cause health problems but saying that it can actually reduce its lifespan significantly is pretty preposterous. But then again it depends on soo many factors such as age, species, care, and length of time out of viv. So I don't think any one cam give you a completely concrete answer. As long as you snake eats, poops, and sheds well I doubt an occasional handling will affect it.

Well, stress kills so if you are stressing your snake a lot I could see it shortening it's life span. However all snakes are different and can tolerate different things in different amounts.

Although there are signs a snake can show that it is stressed, there are also things we as humans can not read just by looking at a snake. It may seem fine but may be stressed in actuality.

Personally, I don't go out of my way to handle my snakes. I only handle them when I am cleaning their cage, moving them...etc reasons of that sort. I may handle them leisurely once in a while.

Say you have a snake that needs specific humidity and high temps and you then take it out into an air conditioned room every day for two hours - this will shorten the snakes life imo.

If you have a cornsnake and hold it once a week in a temperate room for an hour then it wont affect its lifespan imo

Personally my snakes started of as animals that i would interact with as much as possible, possibly too much, over time they have become more display animals that i dont feel the need to handle often, tho i still enjoy handling sessions.
