Say you have a snake that needs specific humidity and high temps and you then take it out into an air conditioned room every day for two hours - this will shorten the snakes life imo.
If you have a cornsnake and hold it once a week in a temperate room for an hour then it wont affect its lifespan imo
Personally my snakes started of as animals that i would interact with as much as possible, possibly too much, over time they have become more display animals that i dont feel the need to handle often, tho i still enjoy handling sessions.
