I remember reading somewhere he was SAS for 6 minute.
(Not very long at all...just a few years if I remember)

1/2 the advice in his show would get you killed if you were stranded. Run around like a nut case, trust a single vine with your life, go sliding down cliffs. I don't think anyone buys it really anyway.
The fact he kills animals then goes back to a camp or hotel to eat makes him a douche.
