Wayne's 2013 herping & nature thread.

Finally have some decent photos to share from this year.

This gal looks big and gravid.

Thats one awesome backyard man. Was this all from a single day of herping?

Looks like you had fun! Love the pics. The fourth pic of the snake climbing up the leaves is incredible! Thanks for posting your adventures.

I'd rather be sloshing around a creek before anything. Finding burrows, crawdads, salamanders and anything else. Of course it doesn't happen as often and evolves some wheezing now. Good stuff Wayne.

The taxes are a killer. $100 per acre annually. with 36 acres, it's a lot of money all at once to come up with, over and over again, every stinking January.

Why is it so high? Is it because of the state you live in, or is it like that everywhere?

I would love to have a property like yours...and would gladly pay the taxes

Re: Wayne's 2013 herping & nature thread.

The region I live in has a very small population.

Infrastructure costs money, with a smaller population to draw taxes from, the numbers have to be higher to achieve the same goal.

I am surrounded by almost a million acres of state forest, the state is exempt from paying tax, so the burden falls on the residents.
