New Sorority full of new girls...

Thought I would post a summary of my new girls and the new sorority house:

Here we have two times 4foot x 2 foot x 12inch PVC cages ( two door). 6 inch heat tape across the antiretroviral back of both. Two hide per cage with temps stabilized as you would expect. Controlled on VE-300x2 thermo set to proportional. Plug and play. (What was that info-mercial guy who said "set it and forget it"?)

The lower right says room for rent across it....but it has already been taken!!

First up: mystic potion: about 500g (I think), calm and settling in well. Have offered food a few times (live and thawed but no interest yet.) good sized girl so no worries!

Her name is Trinity as it takes two different snakes to come up with the Mysic Potion. Three different snakes total...the wife's ideas.

Next up is Olympia. 300g lemon blast who is eating like a champ! Took an F/T rat pup like she had a score to settle. (One on Sunday and another this AM). skittish when sh came home but coming around. Will be calm soon. With a voracious appetite like that she will be big....fast:

Then we have a little Bee: she is lesser, pastel, bumble bee. She is like 200g max!! So itty bitty. So calm, so amazingly relaxed! Took at rate fuzzie on Sunday afternoon like a champ. Had a gear big poop last night so I offered an other this AM if she was still starving. Hit that like a scene from wild kingdom! Wife water to call her Charlotte...So she is.

Pice does not do her justice. She is going to make amazing babies!!

Last up is Savannah:

She is a Mojave + Cinny cross. first produced by NERD in 2006. (morph is a actually a Savannah Mojave I believe) She is around 550g, came home a little nervous but calming down well. Offered live and / or F/T rat pups but she is not interested yet.

We thought about names but my wife liked the style of more so her name is Savannah:

A couple pointers. You're correct in the name of the Savannah. I don't believe anyone uses "Savannah Mojave" anymore. Much like how the spider was once the "spider-webbed" and everyone eventually dropped the "webbed" part.

You mention offering the potion a meal a couple of times now. I would just sit and wait, keep hands off her until she does eat for you. I would recommend offering the same food item (weaned or small rat) every 7 days until she takes it. I found the best way to get an animal to eat is consistency.

I also think the fact that those two animals haven't eaten yet (the potion and savannah) is probably due to them being in a much larger enclosure then they are used to. It may take them a little more time to adjust. If possible, I would get smaller hides, so they have to cram themselves in to the point that it lifts up from their body size.

Yup. I can certainly get smaller hides. What I did do originally was fill the hides with bedding about 3/4 full so it's tight in there. But I can easily get the next size down for now.

I'll wait until the weekend to offer a rat for the bigger girls.

It's a queen bee.

Pastel x Lesser x Spider

If it had an additional pastel gene in it it would then be "killer queen bee". You'd notice a really lighter snake. Maybe someone can post a picture if they have one.
