Still freakin out Update

Hey everyone,UPDATE...

Well asphyxix is now 7 monthes old and even after being handled almost every day she, at times is still striking out with no warning and its pissing me off. So, I ask for your opinions/suggestions

Do you think she is just still young and getting acustom to her suroundings or, do you believe she is just going to be a nasty bitch? ...for example after she has sucked back a rat (in her cage) she will strike out like a mad every times I walk by th cage lol

I am quite good with reading my snakes and have experience with boas (7 years) however, have not seen this behaviour with any of my other snakes, not even the ones the same age as her

Note: even at this stage (I got her at the last show) I am still the only one that can "Manage" and handle her

whats the dilly?

Thanks
Gang

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you criticize them you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Well, the last show was only a few months ago, give her time. Some snakes may tame down in a matter of a month, while some babies may take over a year - some may always be a lil grumpy But it hasn't been that long so I wouldn't be inclined to think she is going to always be a little sensitive. As for striking at you after she has just eaten, that's perfectly normal behaviour. She is still in feeding mode, anything seems to be food. One of my boas stays in feeding mode for 2 days after each meal - striking at any outside movement. Some snakes calm down after 20 minutes or so. But any post-feeding "agression" is jsut a feeding reflex, nothing defensive. With time and patience she should calm down. Just persist with the handling sessions like you have been, and in time she should come around
