Stupid lizard

Tried to set my phone up as he typically wont come out when I'm around, and he doesnt tongue feed. Wanted to show him eating. He decided to try and eat.....the floodlight.

I also had to take him out, one of his logs had mold on it and I dont want to take chances, looked pretty bad (on the humid side). His cage is pretty humid (99% everywhere except near the basking spot) and there is no condensation, wet spots, wet substrate, only a small amount of condensation on the cool side plexiglass. Its just really really humid air. Anyways, I had to take him out so decided to give him a bath and rearrange what he had in there/throw some leaf litter (which he loves apparently)

Heres another video

Re: Stupid lizard

He is probably just trying to see if he can get up there to hang out. (High Spot).

My Amazon Parrot will hang out in the highest spot she can get even if she will not fit properly. (She is a total Dumba**) Lately I noticed whenever I am under the ceiling fan in the living room (its never on), with my Python on my shoulders nearly right away he climbs on my head to see if he can periscope up there. Not sure if he is trying to get height or just inspecting.

Is that a new behavior / light position for you monitor?

Re: Stupid lizard

Ya, it looks to me like its trying to find a way out or get up high. Very cool tripod behaviour in that second video.

I agree, I never get tired of seeing how much a healthy monitor is capable of.
