The season has started here.
They're starting to come out already.
Rescued this little Pituophis catenifer catenifer from the road.
As is customary he recieved a day of water and rest before being released in a safe area. I can't wait to see what pops up this year, hopefully it's better than the last.

Thanks, two more not so lucky on the road today 
I hope to see the garters make a comeback this year. Not too many years ago there would be a regular by my dock swimming along slurping up minnows. The last two years it seems like kings and garters have almost disappeared...

its still snowing over here,that said,even without snow theres not much to find slithering about Scotland

We are in a similar boat here. Sure I can go 5 minutes from here and find a ton of common garter snakes but only occasionaly can I find a milk snake. Then north of here we can find rattlesnakes but I actually don't want to find them so ... you get it

I have absolutely zero hot experience and massasauga rattle snakes and small and pack a punch so I have no interest in finding them...the hard way...so to speak. Plus I herp with my kids so safety is a priority. IfI was 20 something I would be all over them but at 40 something...no need .
