Lightbulb Hi all. An almost everynight field herper here

I found this forum through google search, and was amazed by the number of active members here.
I joined this forum to discuss herping, snake/reptile species and to share experiences and tips on finding snakes.

I tried to make my first thread in field herping last night, but got denied. I used the "Contact" option on the forum to report the problem i encountered.
Still no answer today, so i did a quick search today "post denied" and found a thread with a guy with the same problem, a moderator replied he didn't remember, but he wrote that you needed to make atleast 5 post "or something" first.
It should had been stated in the FAQ, if not it should be stated in the "Post denied" error i got.
Information is the key to all knowledge, i found the information only bec another memeber made a thread about the problem, if not i would not know..
I assume the moderators/forum owners daily have to go through about the same text sendt through the contact form, as i did.
Why not lessen your pain by adding it as information?
Sorry if it is stated somewhere, but i could not find it.

Anyway, thanks for letting me in. I'm soon out for herping from twilight until the batteries are empty in my flashlight.

Cheers

Well they just implemented the post count because of spammers. Other than that do you have any other complaints?

Welcome.

Thanks
Haha. Nah, it's just that a big serious forum like this should provide information for the users, for both the user not be left in his chair with a big question mark, and for the admins not to be the ones who get spammed with questions they could avoid

Cheers

Re: Hi all. An almost everynight field herper here

Hi. I did keep alot of different sakes for awhile in a 3 square meter custom made aquarium. I released them, and gave away the aquarium.
These days i only keep new snake species i've catched over night in a bag for picture and/or video shooting in daylight the day after.
I'm in the opinion that reptiles, or should i say animals in general, belongs in the wild, not in a aquarium or a zoo.

Cheers

Re: Hi all. An almost everynight field herper here

Anyone know the exact post count needed to open a thread and post pictures? I now have 5 as the information i have found in this forum is the amount of post needed to be allowed to open new threads and post pictures...
It would be great if i could post my thred before i leave in about an 1,5 half hour, so i could read opinions when i come back later tonight

Thanks

You can post a new thread whenever but the picture has a limit of 5-10. I can't remember.

That's strange because it's exactly 5 pictures in total..

Thanks

This should've read as follows: To post pictures you need a post count of at least 5-10.
