Seriously OT: But, anyone ever made a ultralight aircraft?..

....Well, I decided on a new project. So far I have the frame. I'll soon get the tail end put onto the body. The area I'm a bit confused on is what kind of fabric to use thats strong enough to hold 60mph sum odd winds yet is light. Plus any Ideas on motors? This project plane will help me fly - practice for my license.
Any tips of the trade or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Not an ultralight but still very time consuming and fun, I build and fly RC. Currently I'm in the middle of finishing a 1.20 size Extra 300s

What licence are you practicing for out of curiousity? I got my private 2 years ago and just got my commercial last october. currently I am working on my instructor. I have never flown a ultralight but I couldn't imagine flying something I built.

....I'm only going to go as far as being a private flyer. It's only a interest of Mine. I may want to go and be a Delta flyer astime progresses but as of now I will be satisfied with the generous "Donations" my passengers lend me. Heh.
Do you know of any good materials that may help build my wings? I'm looking for some sort of fabric. I'm not looking to build a multi-thousand dollar plane, just something I can have fun with.
And a motor, that may be a tricky one as well...
