Snake ID please ? Snellville Georgia
Hi- temperatures here in Ga. have been warm the last couple days- I found this little guy on our driveway. Took some pictures of him and let him go nearer to the lake in the back yard. Just wondering what kind of snake it is- looked for him on Google but could't find a match(I'm red/green colorblind so I might've been handicapped there). I haven't seen one like this around here-we usually see garter snakes, and brown water snakes ( our neighbor cut up a 4 foot water snake we'd named the Dock Ness Monster, because he thought it was a W. Moccasin. My other neighbor dropped a brick on a mature garter snake because he "just wasn't sure what it was. I've told both of them to contact me if they find any other deadly menaces in thier yards and I'd be glad to take care of them(!?@#!!)
I appreciate your help.

My best guess would be a mole king snake.

These little Storeria are fantastic at removing garden slugs from vegetation,
They are very abundant and prolific breeders, I don't know how they all fit in there, but the females can deliver up to 30 live born babies a season.

THANKS to you all for helpin with the Herpin' ( sorry) ! I released th elittle guy while the weather was still warm,, and I look forward to more like him running around come Spring. I plan to educate my machete- and brick wielding neighbors before they can inflict further damage...

Dekay snake, its a type of grass snake, eats worms, slugs ect

That's horrible! Shouldn't really matter what kind of snake it is, venomous or not, there's no good reason for that.
