Its Begun! Boapocylps
So I ran around on CL today and found a bunch of people getting rid of boas, NICE looking boas for dirt cheep, basically the 50 dollar rehoming fee. Most with the same excuse "got at reptile expo, have no time/money for it"
I may have gotten myself in deep. Ive applied to over 20 different adds. Some are down right stunning. A snow boa for 120! thats insane.
Time to build a new rack system

Aren't you moving to Germany? This sounds really irresponsible. You will have no control over quarantine while your gone.

Why? Am I doing something bad? Please tell me if I am. I saw so many boas- some are suppose to be true red tails. Ive been picking through each add. There are so many good looking boas.

Re: Its Begun! Boapocylps
I thought you were boarding them while you were gone.
Have you looked into your cites permit yet? Will you need a vet check on them? If so do you know what a vet check will cost for international importation? It will have to be done by a specific vet and it won't be cheap.

Re: Its Begun! Boapocylps
I'm wondering why you wouldn't buy them in Germany. The cost of shipping & paperwork might exceed buying them in Germany, with the exception of the snow, which seems like an exceedingly good deal.

Re: Its Begun! Boapocylps
I wouldn't do it, Dino.
I'm originally from UK, and European quarantine/checks in general can be stringent and time-consuming.
I'm not 100% on Germany but like someone above just said... I'd look into what you need to do and what customs is required to do with the animals when you arrive. You'll have lot of animals to declare, these may need to be checked and go into a lengthy quarantine period at your expense.
In some cases, it may cost you more than it's worth. If not in money, then in time and effort when you arrive.
Tread carefully and don't purchase in haste.
Just some friendly advice
