Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
Your estimate might be skewed a bit, I use the same program and have had experience getting wildly different numbers if parts of the animal are raised higher then other parts. I would take another shot of him to try with his completely flat.

He is stunning!
I would guess he is close to 8ft.. Assuming that is a 5ft tub.

That's what I was thinking too...as soon as he sheds, I'll get a more accurate one. Either way, he's still a big boy!

Yeah, it's a 5ft tub. 24" across the middle part, so we used that as our reference point. I want to try this again with a better picture and reference point to see what I get. ^-^

Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
I get readings varying between 1-3 feet with that program even if the shot is off by a little and I use a measuring tape place beside them in frame for reference its frustrating and I gave up using it.

Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
good to know. with another pic i used, it said he was 11 ft xD and i was like 'umm....no." 9 ft was more believable. so we'll say the 8-9ft range =]

Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
lol i love his name. I named my monitor pajaaamas with three a's because I hate when people pronounce it (pa-ja-mas), I am southern and we draw out the "A". When I got him he had a yellow mark on his tail the breeder used to identify the one i wanted and when i first got him home he escaped out of the crate and climbed up the stairs and all i could think of was "bananas, in pajamas, they're coming down the stairs".

Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
I use to good old fashion string method. Get a long length of string and start at the tip of the tail and make your way up to the head. Easiest when they are in a calm mood or when you have someone to help you... lol...

Re: Pajamas...when did you get so big?!
The best way I've been able to measure if letting them slither against a wall or even on the bed when they were smaller.
Don't ever get one out just to measure. You can have the most docile animal ever until you decide you want to get a length on them, then they decide they want to do everything BUT move in a straight line or stay still. I try to measure mine when they've been out exploring for a while and wind down some of that energy. With some of mine, it takes a while. lol
Instead of using a string, sometimes it's easier to use one a measuring tape that's used for sewing and body measurements. I always either drop the string or lose my place and find the flexible sewing measuring tape works better for me.
