Michigan Rules and Regulation

I have been researching information about owning a snake in Michigan, but my search has come up short; it would go from talking about wildlife then to dogs.

My question is... What is the legal length for a pet snake in Michigan? Would you need a permit?

I searched and couldn't find anything either. I'd suggest contacting the DNR:

DNR - Natural Resources Contacts and Information

They should give you an answer. But make sure you don't admit to having a snake until you know it's legal. >.>

I checked the Grand Rapids website, and it didn't say anything about reptiles, so I assumed they didn't have any specific laws. But I could be wrong.

Re: Michigan Rules and Regulation

There may not be a legal length for the entire state, but many cities or counties set a length (or, like my city, weight) limit. Check the resources already listed here, and if you don't find anything you may still need to check on a more local level.

Write a rebuttal response to the article? I believe I would have. Particularly if no one takes the time to refute such idiocy, those who write and read such articles assume that they are right because no one disagrees with them.
