Some kids just go their way

I have set up this cage with a number of branches and arboreal nooks and platforms for this little girl to hang out in and on and she chooses the ground more often than not during the day and then at night she goes to the trees.

Wide view

Close up hiding under the branch

Branch moved out of the way, she is a hotty!!

After a feeding last week.

Doesn't look like you have any perches for him, they prefer to have 3 points to rest their body. So the best method is to make a X shape with branches. If not he will continue to stay on the ground and ATB's are arboreal snakes. A proper set up and you'll never see him on the ground. Having multiple branches around each other also works without the X shape but you need enough that like I said he can wrap around touching 3 points of his body.

ATB not always climb to the braches, they like to expend time in the ground aswell were the can hide, people think because they can be found in three are completly arboreals, but thats not always the case, I got mine from the same person whom posted this threat, he has some amazing looking ATB's, mine does the same thing I had her setup with a lot of branches, she like to go to the ground and also expends time haging from the branches, mostly at night when there more active since there nocturnal.

If some one is looking to get a ATB I highly recommend Jason Hood

I believe its colors will show more with age. But no dramatic color change like an etb or gtp

There are multiple perches in there and she does perch all the time, there is also the green netting which she crawls through that goes over the branch on the right. The last pic shows her perched. Cork bark in the back is half circle and provides a low perch and the right side branch has a looped section that forms an arboreal hide.

You are right that 3 point perches are good for them but they are fine if they go to the ground. I have a bunch that sit on the ground during the day and perch at night no matter what the set up is.
