Decision time - tell me about your favorites.
I've been scooting furniture around in my room and moving all my junk into my closet, and realized I have room for 2 or 3 more snakes, depending on size! Lucky, since I've been wanting to get into pythons. The only problem is deciding on species; I was hoping you guys would chip in with your favorite python in the 8'-10' range, and why you love working with them! I'd especially love to hear from people who keep Australian species; I'm particularly fond of them. Thanks so much!

Infernalis: Oh man! I've been sighing over diamond pythons for years, but have never had a way to winter them properly. A cross to a carpet python might work, though - do they have to be just as cold during the wintertime?

Re: Decision time - tell me about your favorites.
I have only worked with bps and burmese for pythons. I am eventually going to get into jampea retics and possibly boelens. going from experience i would recommend Burmese due to them just being beautiful animals and i feel like they are every bit of the words gentle giants.

alexknott: I've been totally charmed by every burm I've met. I don't think I could handle the caging requirements for a regular Burmese, but I think the half-dwarf animals seem perfect. Do you know of anywhere to get them in-state?

depending on what state you might be able to find some, they're not exactly in abundance though, they've only been imported for about 5 or 6 years now.
