Re: whats the difference?

Different species from different areas with different care requirements. Do you have a specific question?

Re: whats the difference?

Pictus Geckos (Paroedura pictus) are commonly called panther geckos, ocelot geckos and other less common labels. They come from Madagascar, and are smaller than leopard geckos. I don't know a super lot about them, but their natural habitat is a little more humid and tropical than leos.

I wager their care is more akin to that of African fat-tailed geckos, than it is to leos.

Pictus geckos are strictly ground-dwelling.

How'd common names cause confusion here?

Well until SoR responds I would venture he may have simply been making a point as to how inadequate and misleading common names generally are.

Re: whats the difference?

Pictus geckos are the most prolific geckos in captivity. They breed like no tomorrow and can live in most any conditions.
