House hold cleaners ect

Can someone give me a list of house hold items that have the potential to harm or otherwise cause issue with herps? I would really appreciate it. Please give the chemical/cleaner with the reason as to why its bad. Generally I use vinegar to clean but some stains in my oven that doesnt work. I know frebreeze is a no no in my house due to a bird. I am really interested in this so any info is super appreciated.

I wish I could help, But I forbid any aerosol or aromatic anything in my house.

I only buy vinigar based cleaners.

I would think that if you can't use it with the bird then you can't use it near the herps.
For my oven I buy an oven cleaner that is used cold by Easy Off. I then put the bird and skink in a room away from the kitchen and close the doors. I also open windows in the kitchen and use a fan to draw all fumes out. Other cleaners that work well are dawn dish detergent (original only),baking soda and vinegar mixed together. 1 part bleach to 10 parts water is ok to use near the animals just not on anything they are in/on.

I would never use easy off in a home with birds.. that is asking for death! I find the best thing to clean with is steam. I place a pan of water in the oven and turn it on to 400 for 30 minutes. After that I air out the oven for 5 minutes and wipe it down with a scotch bright pad.

I never use Easy Off products that are used in a hot oven only the cold and like I said it's used with ventilation and the animals are away from the kitchen with closed doors. I do like the idea of the hot water.

I know when I got my bird (quaker parrot), I was told not to use non-stick cookware because of the vapors it would give off. Probably going to pet hell because I wasn't going to stop using a couple hundred dollar cookware set. 2 years in and he's as healthy as ever...

You can use non stick as long as you don't burn it. You can't allow it to get hot while empty. The reason is the formaldehyde in the coating. I still use my non stick cook ware also, you just have to be careful.

I can't remember the last time I burned anything. Maybe soon after college. That was many, many moons ago.

All my teflon went into the trash, I also do not use my self cleaning oven, threw out a hair dryer and two portable heaters.

There is a new product out that coats with ceramic which is suppose to be completly safe. It's called something like Green Ceramic Coated Cookware.

I use some of the cleaners from Method. I really like their leather cleaner cloths, granite cleaner and dust cloths. They have a nice clean soft odor and do a great job. The leather cleaner will remove dried on bird poop in a second. No harmful odors or chemicals in any of their products. I did try the shower cleaner but wasn't too thrilled with it.
