hey, i have decided to quit ssnakess. call me over dramatic or whatever, but every time i ask you guys for advice you put me down and yell at me for doing to wrong thing, even though i just asked how to fix it. People on this snake forum have even refused to give others advice because they are "expirenced reptile owners" even they dont know everything!

So what if she is trying to get attention or whatever her reason is for posting this...You guys right now are acting like the reason she is leaving. Mature up and leave her alone.

Not really. She's complaining that people are yelling at her when she's asking for advice. Saying we don't care she's leaving isn't at all what she's complaining about.

That isn't the point. It is the fact that you guys are just keep going at it is what is bothering me. You all act like immature children. If you didn't care you could have just looked at the post and go elsewhere. Not comment on it telling her that. The problem with the internet is that you don't know how your words affect the person on the other side of the conversation.

Actually, it is the point. You said we're doing what she's complaining about, but we're not. How is that not the point?

And if you didn't like what we had to say, you could have just looked at the posts and gone elsewhere. Works both ways, hun.

Maybe someone will come and be all, "Oh, poor baby! We're so sorry! We didn't mean to hurt your precious little pheelingz! You're a special little butterfly and we'll all tell you everything you want to hear forever and ever! Please stay because you're so special and wonderful!" But guess what? That ain't gonna be me. Someone asking for that doesn't deserve it. They deserve to have the door hit them on the way out.

I have to admit, I'm absolutely sick of every single thread being hijacked and turned into some type of argument lately. However, I'm not gonna leave, there are a lot of nice, friendly and helpful people on here who have given loads of good advice. And I value this forum, there are a lot of forums out there that are way worse than the minor bickering that goes on here.

Let me tell you, I used to be a member on a dog forum (not gonna name it). Those were the most rude, inconsiderate people that would rip you apart like...well...a pack of wild dogs. It seemed that everything was personal there, name calling and bashing, etc...

So now, when I get annoyed at other forums I remind myself of that dog forum...nothing will be as terrible as that dog forum. :P

For the record i am not defending anyone. As of late i agree there has been way to much 3rd grade B.S. going on.

I don't know what spawned this, and really don't care. But I'll tell you its a two-way street.

Yeah, some people can be rude with their advice, but in the same token, it is frustrating for new members to request advice, but whine about the advice they receive because it isn't necessarily what they want to hear. Then they STILL have problems with their animals, keep asking for the same advice, and get "put down' for not following it the first time....and they wonder why some people are "mean" and rude.

Maybe you're in that category; maybe you're not. But you said it yourself: its the internet. I suggest you develop a thicker skin, and simply take things at face value and not so personally. This is coming from someone who has been keeping reptiles for 20 yrs, 10 yrs of customer service in pet shops, and almost as much experience dealing with people in reptile forums on the web. Bottom line: people need to focus less on their egos and whether their feelings getting hurt, and more about just taking care of their animals.
