Aquarium Chillers?

Does anyone know anything about these? I'd like to get one for my axolotl, but the only one I found that was a reasonable price required a whole drilled into the side of the tank. I only need one for a 14 gallon tank, but I don't want to spend $500+ on one.

Re: Aquarium Chillers?

I would look at setting up a second tank where you could cool the water and then pumping the water in from that second tank. Small water pumps are cheap and easily found in any pet store or online. You could grab a cheap 5 gallon tank, keep it in a window or somewhere cooler like that and then pump the water through. Im a little confused though. Axolotls are from Mexico, so why do you want to cool the water? I dont know a lot about their set up other than their natural habitat.

They do come from Mexico, but the two lakes they live in are actually fed by glaciers, which make the water about 65-70 F. Her tank is about 72 F, but I'm worried about the summer months.
