Removing that "new cage" smell.

I sealed the interior of an enclosure I rehabilitated about 2 weeks ago (last coat on the exterior yesterday), and it still had just a hint of odor today. I was told to use a vinegar & water solution to kill the odor. Seems to work, since all I smell now is apple cider vinegar, but has anyone else tried this? I should probably let it air out another day before putting my amorous couple in there, I'm guessing, correct?

Re: Removing that "new cage" smell.

I kick on the heat in the viv to high.. heat the crap out of it and let all the fumes burn off outside for a few hours. Then I leave it open but heat off for a week, after that 1 day with the heat on and sniff check. Repeat until all smell is gone. I have not had to do it more than once yet.

I recommend pissing in it. Not says old like the smell of stale urine.
