Ball Python Enclosures

is it better to put the vent holes at each end (sides of enclosure) or two at the back, or does it really matter??

this enclosure will be 2 enclosures, stacked, with a heat pad under a vinyl? tile floor and plexi-glass front (if it matters)

Re: Ball Python Enclosures

The number and diameter of holes you put in your bins will be unique to YOUR environement. You cant take someone elses advice on this; no two houses are the same; different airflow, temps, humidity, barometric pressure, etc.

Re: Ball Python Enclosures

When I built my GTP's cage I was worried about having to much or not enough vents. I did 4 to start. I cut them and bought vents that I could add caps to in case I wanted to seal some off. I figured better to have to many rather than have to put my snake in another viv and cut more. I did leave all 4 vents for the spring and summer but now the fall and winter I have capped off 2 holes. I think this is a great way to go...

Re: Ball Python Enclosures

I would agree with gungirl... its easier to cap some holes off, rather than add holes once the snake is inside the enclosure...

Re: Ball Python Enclosures

definately, the vents I was looking at didn't have caps, but I am sure I'll find those, just have to go to the bigger hardware/building stores out of town!

Re: Ball Python Enclosures

I'm sure Lowes or Home Depot will have something you can use.
