Atherton...Receding lower lip from rubbing..

Hi, we have an 6ft Atherton python that after laying a batch of infertile eggs has rubbed/dragged her bottom lip along the glass and ground of her enclosure and damaged her bottom lip, it looks as though its receding,it now scabbs up and at times her mouth has to be manually opened, do you think this will heal? what should i be doing to help her? we were told to use peroxide but it seems to really hurt and is making a beautiful natured snake very nasty, Thanks Jenny

I would err on the side of caution and take the snake to the vet it could be infected

Have you cleaned her cage since she laid her slugs?

Atherton is a jungle locale,so that and going by the 6ft size,i'm assuming its a carpet mate

you need to get to the vet to make sure any infections are treated

do you have any pictures you could post ?
