I'm soooo impatient!!

Hello,

I have started to take my female out of her terrarium regularly (when she wants to climb on my arm), but she doesnt always feal like it.
My male is very nervous!! he doesnt approche my hand and will bite if i get too close to him.
I want to put them in the same tank very soon but im worried about how ill manage to feed them if i cant move them

!

Should i wait more? I've now waited 1½ months to quarentine my male and everything turned out ok with him.

I want to build a 40gallon breeding tank for them and another leo ill buy soon and when its done (about 1 month or so) I want to put them in together.

Do you have tips on how i could take my female out to feed her and the male? What if i dont manage to take my female out, how will i feed them?

I just put crickets in the cage. They find them and eat on their own. If you feed meal worms just put them in a very shallow dish (glass if you want them to stay in the dish).

But wouldnt they fight over the food??

Usually they will just eat what they can. Sometimes you have an over aggressive ont that will east more than their share. As long as they are both eating I wouldn't worry. If one is getting noticable skinnier and isn't because of egg laying you will want to seperate. Other than that they should be fine.

Why are you concerned with feeding them in the same cage??? It really shouldn't be a problem. As long as both animals were feeding before introduction, you really shouldn't run into problems after introduction. Make sure there are sufficient numbers of crickets for both animals available, and keep a shallow bowl of mealworms available at all times. This would negate the need to "seperate" them for feeding purposes... Which could really only lead to more problems such as stress, and the possibility of them going off-feed due to moving each meal time.
I only really have one question/concern:
The quarantine period, should, ideally be no less than 3 months, as some illnesses can lie dormant for periods longer than a mere month, only creeping up after introduction to other, already established, animals. Just a hint of caution.

In regards to the male being more nervous, only time and gentle handling can break the habit of nervousness and paranoia.

Thats for the tips! I will order the glass to build the tank soon. It should be ready in 1 month or so and my male will have been in quarentine for 2½-3 months.

I just feed my leo in his cage...just drop the crickets in. I dont think you have to take him out and put him in another cage to do that. I used to take my leo out all the time when i got him and he never bit me or anything..so i couldnt really help you on tips about them being nervous or actually wanting to bite you!
