Photo update
I haven't been posting much here lately, but I though some of my old friends here might like to see an update of my critters.
This is our oldest, Malaki, a 7'+ 10 year old male Burm. He's been in good care for a little over a year now since his rescue. He continues to thrive with us and is still the friendliest snake I've ever seen. I know they're not supposed to crave human interaction, and most of our others tolerate it, but Malaki really seems eager to be out & about meeting people.
Here's a somewhat more recent shot of him.
Next, and I know this is the python section but he's the only oddball, is Mario, our hypo BCI. He's not as eager to come out and meet people, but he's a total gentleman when the time comes. He has never so much as hissed at anyone.
Next is our 50% SuperDwarf Tiger retic. He's not growing as quickly as I thought, but he remains quite healthy and is starting to develop the fabled retic feeding response so I imagine he's due for a growth spurt about any time.
This is Franks, a pastel male royal.
And Sidney, the wild-type royal.

Re: Photo update
Kensi, mojave royal.
Ziva, pinstripe.
Jethro, enchi. I couldn't get him to hold still long enough to get a pic with his head.
I missed Hetty the yellow belly female because she for some reason had a bad shed and got a bath instead of outside for pictures.
Jerome, the JCP.
and finally, another non-python. Winston our Hognose.

Re: Photo update
Lovely looking collection, is Jerome a black and white JCP or is it the picture (or my phone's screen) making him look white?

Re: Photo update
I love both the selection and the photography. I enjoyed the pictures of Malaki in particular.

Re: Photo update
Absolutely beautiful snakes. Taking the pictures in the sun really highlights the beauty of their coloration.

Re: Photo update
Donnie, Jerome isn't white. He's more yellow than that pic shows, it's probably not your phone's screen the sunlight washed it out, but he's definitely not a super yellow high end JCP. I love him though.
Kettennatter, if you do a search on "Malaki" in the Giants section there are a bunch more of him as well as his story. Poor guy has had a rough life.
Thanks Rob. Tyrion is one of my favorites. He's tough to get pics of though because he won't hold still and the only camera I have is my iPhone. He was freshly shed and I tried and tried to capture the irridescence I could see with my eyes but only a couple photos showed it.
But here are a few more, untouched, pics of him.

Ah, what a poor "little" guy. That is something that struck me with burms: While they are large and strong snakes they generally appear to be very calm and are not easily startled. The ones I dealt with so far also responded exceedingly well to handling.

Re: Photo update
Thanks Zoo Nanny (great screen name BTW). And thanks Chuck that means a lot coming from you.
Kettennatter, he is the friendliest of the three Burms I've been around but they're all sweeties. People talk about Burms like they just sit still all he time but that's not really the case. Malaki is a squirmy Burm. I think they're only sedate by comparison to retics. Lol

Re: Photo update
oh my gosh, those eye pics! I adore when they are looking away at something. Sooo cute! And they are ALL beautiful. You know i'm fond of the hoggies, but some of these others are sweet.
Kinda cool to see a bigger pastel. I wondered how the color on mine would hold up as he ages.
Thanks Norm! I love all your critters! I kind of love all critters in general, but these are particularly nice ; )
