Re: Backwater reptiles?
Hi, I was looking into them in the summer but after reading negative posts about their animals and their customer service I decided not to purchase from them.
If you make a purchase from them make sure to ask if the animal is CB or wildcaught.

Please check the BOI for these sorts of questions. Link here: Board of Inquiry® - FaunaClassifieds

Re: Backwater reptiles?
I personally have a hard time buying over the internet . . .too many bad experiences, on the other hand if they will send extra photos of the animal you want to buy and don't act like you're a bother then go ahead. Just remember you're more likely to find bad reviews then good because people love to complain but seldom take the time to give a good review when needed

This right here.^^^^^
It's one of the more nasty aspects of human nature.
Take an extra moment each day to...
Compliment someone, Hold a door open, or other random act of kindness.
You will not only make someone else feel good, but you will feel better about yourself too.
If you have a good experience, tell everyone, make a post on the fauna BOI saying how pleased you are.

Re: Backwater reptiles?
well i heard that they label some of their snakes captive bread snakes but people came to find their not and ive heard of a lot of their snakes arriving or shortly after becoming sick. I went through garrick demeyer, and he has nothing but good reviews. Plus his business is quick and helpful. If you are looking to order online of course that is what i would recommened checking out. just google him

Ditto. If I have a good transaction, I always try to take the time and leave a good post. Of course, I avoid Fauna pretty much all the time, so it's kinda moot unless its a member of a particular forum I'm on.

Re: Backwater reptiles?
I bought my green anaconda from Backwater, he was healthy and in good spirirts when I got him. They do not seem to log any feeding or born on dates. This has been my first online snake purchase.

Re: Backwater reptiles?
I too avoid fauna, it's mostly a he said she said bunch of whiners slandering people.
On that note, in any thread on this forum, I would kindly appreciate comments of direct experience only, "I heard" is GOSSIP nothing else.
Please do not regurgitate gossip on ssnakess.
I am always tempted to delete "I heard this" posts.

Re: Backwater reptiles?
I have been conversing with Sam from backwater reptiles and he has been nothing short of wonderful. He has been completely honest from what I can tell and has answered all of my questions. He is concerned both for the animals well being and my interests. He just got two babies of what I have been planning on ordering and doesn't want to ship them because they are in bad shape. He is working with them now and has been keeping me posted every step of the way. He has even given me and extended guarantee for when an animal is healthy to order. If he wanted to he could have lied and said the babies were in perfect condition and sent them to me sick, but he was honest and that is extremely reassuring. I've been super paranoid about the entire thing and am glad the communication has been super.
