More Camel Spider pictures

I was watching this guy ball up dirt, then carry it to another part of the enclosure. I have no idea why he was doing this.

Re: More Camel Spider pictures

I see those almost every day at my house, they remind me of the bugs in 'cloverfield'.

I have lived in a few cities in SD, but I have only seen camel spiders on deployment...(Iraq)

Likely was trying to create a burrow. Is it eating well for you?

I thought so initially, but it was just carrying it to the other side, and then going back to get more. Yes, it's eating like a pig.

Re: More Camel Spider pictures

They are also known as sun spiders and they were all over the place in the Mojave desert where I was stationed. They are pretty cool to see. Scary! But cool.

then you probably don't live in a rural town surrounded by desert
My "seen everyday" claim is true from may to september, they're rare for the rest of the year.
