Re: Need info on making humid moss box
Depends on how big snake is, for young snakes take tupperware or some other type of plastic bowl with lid, cut hole in top of lid add damp moss to bowl, and your done, with my larger snakes i use large square boxes with lids

Re: Need info on making humid moss box
I just use normal hides and stuff them full of sphagnum moss, once or twice a week i lift the hids and spray the moss to keep it moist, all my snakes seem to love them apart from my carpet python who never used his so i removed it (and my GTP who just has a moss layer on his substrate to help humidity)

Re: Need info on making humid moss box
I get mine at PetSmart - they have prepackaged spaghnum moss (I believe packaged by Flukers but I'm not certain on that) for not so outrageous of a price (like $4 for 8 quarts or something like that).

Too moist and it will stink and rot also if your snake eliminates in it. Not to worry though, it's wicked cheap. You can also use damp paper towels or even a dish towel, or potting soil until you get the moss lol. Moss in a plastic container works best though. I'm currently using cake boxes. Thank You Bakeries for doing away with cardboard and using plastic for better display!

Funny enough, I just posted a thread about this. Search "sushi box".

Moist is fine, wet is not and my snakes must all be weird cos they have never pooped or peed in their moss hides
