Re: Outdoor Photoshoot with Kalis!
My roommate has a Nikon something or other.... and I always miss the best shots because it's like "Snake? How about I focus on the hairs on your arm instead??"

haha. You need to use the manual settings instead of auto. I hate the auto face recognition feature...

Re: Outdoor Photoshoot with Kalis!
It's hard doing manual one handed. Normally I'm alone doing it. I'll try manual next chance I get. I also have some good luck using that little flower setting on the turny-dial thingy.

Re: Outdoor Photoshoot with Kalis!
Yeah, use the "flower setting". That is macro for close-ups. I don't usually even bother with manual focus, I just take the camera off of auto so it won't try to recognize faces. It also allows me to change shutter speed, aperture, ISO, etc.

MACRO! That was the word I was trying to think of. I use that word all the time, until I need it then I blank it out. I don't know what all this thing lets me do. I don't use cameras very often (until recently... now that I have a reason to take pictures I wish I'd learned more in my photography class in HS)

Re: Outdoor Photoshoot with Kalis!
Look at that cute nose and pink tongue! I hope to get a good shot of my snakes tongue one day. It's like she knows I'm trying and does it right after the "click". Great pictures, Paris!! Thanks for sharing
