falsie feeding snaps

my big girl isnt the sharpest knife in the drawer and tends to find the most awkward way of getting her prey into her...

doing bad things to a chick lol...

sideways mice, if she doesnt fel like finding the head she just folds them in half and down they go...

would have got some of the male but the viv stays firmly shut when he is in feeding mode...

thanks for looking...

thanks mate, yea both falsies a pretty much just jam them in any shape but my young male boa has a fetish for eating backwards.

He will strike hard and fast, i mean he has literally threw himslf from one side of the viv to the other to get at the rat but when hes sure its dead (i feed F/T, he doesnt know lol) he spends the next hour or so playing with it then down it goes backwards every time.

I looks so much of a strugglr you would think they would catch on but no, scary to watch sometimes...

I thought it was just my lot that where numptys, good to see mine arent the only ones...

Re: falsie feeding snaps

I have a carpet that does the same thing. She usually eats her rats backwards and it takes her forever to get it down. That chick pic is funny though.

lol Wow. Every once in a while one of my animals will try to take their food sideways.

I wonder if it's a dumeril thing. Both of mine are the same way. Squeeze for 15-20, then another 20 or so minutes to find the head. But as soon as they find it, it's gone in about 5 minutes.

I have a 6' burm that is still hand fed. I don't use tongs...hold the rat by the tail, dangling it in front of her. She just comes up and grabs the rat by the head and starts eating away. (not every time, but it's common for her)

My carpet I HAVE to feed on tongs. She hits so hard, she's left the tail still in the tongs

When all mine were smaller, I used to feed chicks every once in a while. It seemed to confused them because they'd spend several minutes trying to figure out what end is the head lol

Re: falsie feeding snaps

My falsie is the same way. The feeding response on these snakes is just incredible! Mine will hit hard and fast and will use the walls or branches to help get it down quick.
