Need help trying to identify a snake

I know nothing about snakes. A friend of mine is trying to identify a snake she saw this morning. I thought this might be a great way to help. Thanks so much.

where was it seen, including the state.

I agree Eastern Hog-nosed Snake (Heterodon platirhinos)

Then it could be a Southern Hognose (Heterodon simus)
