Re: Hello from Las Vegas and Bangkok
Welcome to the forum. I hope youre enjoying the travels. If you have the time, definitely take a trip out east and go to Cambodia, Laos or Vietnam. Thailand is nice but I think Laos might be one of my favourite countries in the world.

Thanks guys!
Ya, I've been traveling through SE Asia for a while now..kinda living in BKK at the moment with no real time frame.
So you like Laos the Best? My friends just came back from VNTN after a visa run, they got stuck there for a week and came back saying their absolutely loved it.
Question.. Have you been to the ZOO there? I love to check out wildlife and my next visa run is going to be the best place that has a zoo or some animal shows.

Re: Hello from Las Vegas and Bangkok
You know, I stopped going to zoos when I was in Asia. I went to one in India that was so atrocious that I felt sick. I can barely stomach the ones here in supposed first world countries so I didnt bother checking any out by the time I got to SE Asia. It is totally worth the trip though. The reason I like Laos better is that it is much less travelled so the people there are much more friendly and not so jaded by tourists. I dont think Ive ever been to a more kind, open country as a traveller.

Re: Hello from Las Vegas and Bangkok
Ya, that's what my sister said about it also. Very friendly people in Laos. I think I will be going there on my next trip.
Would you say it's better to go to Vientiene or somewhere else? There is a new casino if I go east of Thailand that has some good visa run specials, so that's also on my radar.

Back in the 80's I owned one of those white jackets (I called it my "Crockett jacket") like Murray Head wore in the video for that song.. Ahh the days when MTV actually played music.

Vientiane is the easiest to get to of course, though that casino wasnt there the last time I was. From Vientiane there are some easy day runs out to various river locations and caves and such that are pretty cool. Luang Prabang is amazing, so even if you were just planning Vientiane, Id say at least go up there too. I never got down south, but I hear its beautiful. I went east through Laos into Vietnam, and then down Vietnam instead.
