Update on Rescued BRB

Well its been just over a month now , and he is doing very well . He was 64 grams when i got him and now he is 85 grams eating a hopper mouse every 5 to 7 days. I think he has added some length but could not measure him today. He won't take FT at all , but he will take fresh killed so will work on that later. The little scar he had on his head is just about gone thanks to the neosporin advice, and he is filling out a bit. still very calm and not nippy and seems pretty happy.

also , i have not seen many brazillions with such white sides, is he some morph or is he some peruvian? He does not look like the typical Brazillions i have seen.

Re: Update on Rescued BRB

He's looking good -- well done of the (30%!) weight gain!

Whitewalls are a common occurrence with Brazilian Rainbows. The lead theory is that it is temperature regulation tool: dark during day when it will help soak up the sun, and white at night when that is not needed.

Re: Update on Rescued BRB

yes 30% , i didn't look at it that way . that seems like alot of weight gain , but he was pretty skinny and he has been eating normally . I plan to keep him on this feeding schedule for at least 3 months yet . I would like to have a length to weight ratio chart for BRB's just to have an idea of what his wieght should be for his length and girth. I is going to shed soon so I'll have a better idea of how that scar will look but its hard to see now.
