Re: BHP colour change
Very interesting color change.. Is it a normal thing to have a color change like that in this type of snake?

Hi gungirl, it is not that common an occurence. Their are certainly a few of these animals about in their home country but as yet no-one seems to know why it happens although a few ideas have been put forward, but it is a long way from been fully understood. She was a normal type BHP (indeed i also have her sister who has exhibited no change) animals it has happened to turn or change colour at sexual maturity. She is now four year old which is about right with BHP,s. It is also a inheritable trait and along with her sister she will be paired with males later in the year so fingers crossed.

Hello to you marvelfreak hope all is well with you. The BHP girl is 4 year old. The colour change started with patches of salmon, purple and pink. Infact she looked a mess, then after the next slough she is as you see her now. Who knows what she will look like after her next two sloughs, either way as with all blackheads she is a wonderful animal.
Regards John

It's good to see you back on here. Keep us updated on her, and you should show off some of your other beautiful animals.
