Just thought i'd share a little story...
My recently acquired (6 mos ago.) BCI went into his 4th shed. I've been feeding him a decent sized sub adult rat every week. I've handled him regularly since I got him (even once momentarily during a shed to change his substrate) however during his blue phase this past shed he went completely schitzoid on me. When I got anywhere near his cage, he'd strike his poor little nose right into the glass. I decided to leave him alone and sit down and watch some boob tube. He continuously watched me from the other end of my apartment and hissed almost anytime I moved. I've had to help him remove his eyecaps because they were retained after the shed ( I know, my fault, i've upped the humidex). He was completely calm as I gently helped him regain his eyesight by removing his eyecaps. He has since gone back to his normal docile temperment. Poor little guy must've though I was some kind of predator. I'm not looking for anyone to boost my confidence or anything like that by posting this, or husbandry tips (though husbandry tips are always welcome), I just wanted to share a day in the life of a boa with you all. Thanks for reading!
