And yet another corn ...
...it's a long story, which I will maybe post in the general forum, but my son bought yet another corn snake at the pet store. It's a friendly little guy, and I do understand my sons fascination with corns. However, I'm not 100% which type of corn he got. What do you think?

Re: And yet another corn ...
Congratulations
I am not great with morphs especially when they are so young but I would guess at anery.

I have one anery, and it has a yellow throat area and is otherwise grey. In contrast to that one, this doesn't have the yellow pattern but has bright orange and pink spots on top between the saddles. This one seems to retain just a bit of its color.

Re: And yet another corn ...
I think the yellow tends to develop as they get older and I see what you mean about the pinkish orange between the saddles. Have you got any belly and eye photo's?

No, unfortunately I don't have any belly shots. I remember just the regular corn pattern (white/grey) on its belly. I may take some more pictures tomorrow, the poor thing has been handled a lot today. I have another shot, but I believe the snake is currently developing eye caps, so it may not tell you all that much.

Re: And yet another corn ...
I just had a look on Ian's vivarium and the normal babies seem to have the same colouring inbetween the saddles and look very similar to yours.

Re: And yet another corn ...
I believe it's a normal corn as well. Does it have a checkered belly?

Yes, the belly is indeed checkered. But wouldn't you expect more red outside of the saddles, though?

No, not necessarily. There's quite a bit of orange on him, though.

Re: And yet another corn ...
I think it will "colour" up as it sheds into the normal colours you would expect to see for a Carolina.
Just had a good look at the anery's as well and they do not have any different colours in-between the saddles so a Carolina is my best guess.

I know that corns get brighter as they grow, and the orange outside of the spaces on top is just a hint. So I will see where this one ends up. Oh, greetings from the Columbus area, by the way.

The hatchling in the picture for the Carolinas seemed to have far more red in the saddle, but I do agree that it may be a timing issue. I haven't taken a normal corn from hatchling to adult snake yet, so this is new to me. (The normal corn I have now was almost fully grown when we got it.)
