Antaresia stimsoni

Larged blotched or Stimson's python

This one is a female of the pair of Windorah locale I have.

Re: Quick one

Very nice looking. I really like the red burnt orange color down the side of the male.

Re: Quick one

Thanks Chuck, I prefer his colour too... he just looks "richer" than tha female in his tones. Hopefully they make some nice babies in a couple of years.

He is being a total pain at the moment and hasn't eaten since mid-April.

Re: Quick one

Thanks Todd...

There may be a few more stimsons down the line from my end as I have recently started on my new rep room and a 12 tub Antaresia rack. I'm after a couple more specific locales and made some deals with some friends for swaps come breeding time.

Re: Quick one

If I was 20 years younger and had unlimited space, I'd have a few of each type and locale of Antaresia that I could lay my hands on. I never paid them much attention until a year ago and man-o-man am I ever kicking myself for it now. Out of all the snakes I've worked with over the years, my little maculosa most definitely has the biggest character and the most interesting looks.

There's something about these things that just doesn't quite come across in images, but since I know what they're like, I can fill in the blanks and now I just can't get enough, lol. Yours are particularly fine-looking individuals though, I must say

Re: Quick one

Never too late mate and as you know they don't take up much room one or two or three surely can't hurt

Re: Quick one

I'm more likely to find a Snow Snake than a Stimson's python where I am
