Looking for advice

Hi I'm corey, I just signed up here.... I've been wanting to make a live enclosure, I've got several tanks, and several different reptiles and ideas for what I want to do. I'm kind of a perfectionist so just on here to research and get ideas and advice and whatnot.

the creatures I have:
-1 long-tailed green anole (gender unknown)
-1 male leopard gecko adult
-2 corn snakes male a few years old
aaaand I think that's it for now
-Oh yeah I do have some feeder mice
-and also a 75 gallon with a jack dempsey breeding couple

-I have three ten gallons
-1 long tank, maybe 20-30 gallons (found by a dumpster)
-and 1 tall zoomed tank, maybe two feet tall by 1 foot wide, with the two front doors

the long tailed anole and the leopard gecko have been living together for the past year in the zoomed tank. I have it some aquarium sand and slate on the bottom, and then have some twigs and branches and things collected from outside. And also a little cricket keeper in there too. I usually just mist the top layer for the anole every day, and keep a little water dish for the leop.

The corn snakes I have in the long right now. I have feeder mice in a ten gallon.

But anyway! I'm rambling! Sorry about that if you read all that.... but yeah Hi I'm corey I"m friendly for the most part feel free to say hi if you want

Mainly I'm researching live plants right now, so if anybody has any good articles to link to, or any good advice, please let me know! I want to have the anole in a humid misted enclosure with a little waterfall and lots of live plants for him and some friends to jump around on. The leopard I want to put in the long tank with maybe some succulents. But I'm not sure really what I'm doing so I'm just sort of going with the flow. Okay I need to stop typing now. lol.

Re: Looking for advice

Just wanted to point out that your Gecko and Anole are from different parts of the world, and I'm rather surprised that the gecko has not attacked your Anole yet.

Ditto.

Not just from different parts of the world, but different habitats/climates, etc. An adult leopard gecko can do some serious damage to a lizard of equal size, and certainly smaller animals. Personally I would separate them as soon as possible.

Mind you, we're not trying to get on to you; we're just concerned for your animals' well-being and trying to help.

There is no ZooMed terrarium model with those dimensions, so you either have a 12x12x18 or a 18x18x24. Either way, that should be fine for one green anole (never heard of a "long-tailed" green anole, though ). However, because of the limited size, I would only keep him in it and not include any other inhabitants. Maybe after you have had success with this live terrarium, you can try something larger (perhaps 55 gallons or more), and add other native species such as green tree frogs. But an enclosure that size is too small for more than one small lizard IMHO.

Sounds like the long tank would be a great tank for the leopard gecko, if you're going for the live set-up. However, this would obviously put out your cornsnakes (which, IMO, should be separated anyway), so you definitely need to consider other housing options for them. If not, perhaps put the leopard gecko in one of the 10-gallons for now until you can figure things out.
