******** is beautiful. I can't help you with whether he is Jampea or dwarf... but that is one good-looking retic
Why is his name being blocked out? Is his name a bad word I've never heard of before? lol

if you bought him as a jampea het albino then thats probably what he is. He is mixed, the albino blood comes from normal mainland retics and the jampea is a dwarf. Your animals appearance is more influenced by the albino bloodline, but probably has jampea blood in it

Re: Is this a Jampea? Or any type of dwarf? my first retic
Bushsnake has it correct..the different morphs of the "dwarf" lines have been bred in from mainland snakes. Therefore, they all have mainland blood in the lines at least in the beginning. That being said, the lines are developed enough that you can have albinos that are 85% or more dwarf. Jampea locale snakes do tend to have silver eyes, but much as it is with carpet pythons, it's very hard to get a pure locality retic these days unless you know the entire lineage from imported founders up.

That all makes perfect sense, so my retic took more of his mainland side?
so in general what locality would you say my retic most resembles.

Beautiful Retic. I know what you mean about intelligence. Retic and Anacondas both are on a different level when it comes to intelligence than most snakes.

Re: Is this a Jampea? Or any type of dwarf? my first retic
just got in touch with the breeder today. He told me his dwarfs are in fact Jampea but are crossed with Selayer. After doing research these guys do as well stay a little smaller than the giants (around 15 feet). I can see a little bit of resemblance but who really knows if he's telling the truth or not
Just interesting to know

Here is a sure way to tell. Wait 5 years, and if it get's 30 feet long and starts eating cows, you can safely say for all practical purposes it is not a dwarf
