Five lined skink
I rescued this guy from the cat. I'm pretty sure he's an adult male five lined skink. He just had some scratches, so I applied betadine and released him. And no, the blood on my hand is not from him.

Re: Five lined skink
Must be the day for it today! I had to take a dead Robin from one of our cats today and then ten minutes later rescued this frog from the other

Re: Five lined skink
Well, the skink happened yesterday. My dad rescued the same skink a few weeks ago, I could see where it had some injuries healing up. A little over a week ago we had some baby wrens that were learning how to fly and one of the cats snatched one right in front of us, but we weren't able to save it.

Re: Five lined skink
Now the weather is hot here we can expect anything up to ten dead slowworms each day, the odd bird two or three times a week and frogs toward the evening each day - our bloody cats are prolific hunters

Re: Five lined skink
Man, I just wish I had skinks walking through my backyard... all I ever see here are little brown anoles and indo-pacific geckos. Nothing really interesting
That five-lined skink is awesome!!

Re: Five lined skink
I don't have lizards up here. The only thing that I have is garter snakes.

This is the first five lined I have ever found alive. I have also rescued a few broad headed skinks from the cats. They look really similar to the five lined, but loose the stripes as adults and grow larger. I mostly just see the little brown ground skinks though.
