Re: cuttlefish

a whole cuttlefish or the cuttlefish bone youd give to a bird?

The cuttle fish bone is a very poor source of calcium... not much to be gained by using it...

But a fresh cuttlefish... yup why not

Re: cuttlefish

Make sure that the package does not say "Sodium Tripolyphosphate" in the ingredients list.

look carefully, it will be listed if present.

Phosphates in food!

Re: cuttlefish

The possible issue would be the added sodium. Cuttlefish will already be high in salts, so add sodium to that and you have a food source that can be dehydrating to the lizard. Shouldn't be a problem if the set up is right and he is well hydrated, but I wouldn't make a habit of it necessarily either.

Re: cuttlefish

To be random, this is my favorite thing i've seen when diving. I'd be careful, though, as they are a salt water creature. Like Wayne said, no salt etc.

Re: cuttlefish

One of the problems we run into when we feed reptiles food items intended for humans, is that reptiles are not humans...

I have witnessed with my own eyes what happens when reptiles consume human food preservatives, and it's not pretty. Their delicate little organs fail.

hi there,
i would never feed pork to it, hes been eating locusts, crickets (with cal supp), marioworms, earthworms and 2 mice a week, ive found a dubia roach dealer online and will be ordering some this week, ive been trying to find a little different diet for it, ive gave him a bit of trout today but cant find them the right size for him so i had to cut it up, it was a bit boney seen as it was quite a bit fish (7 inch), so ill not give him no more of that till i can find the right sizes for it.. I gave him 2 of them cuttlefish yesterday and he seemed to enjoy them, but ill not give him no more of them. I was looking for some crayfish but they had sold out so i found them hoping they would be ok..
Ill just have to keep looking till i can find out whats right..
thanks
