Regurge problem

So my male bull snake has this regurge problem. He takes food like a champ, hisses and does all the "things" bull snakes do. Problem is about 3 days later the regurges it. His hot side is 83 cold side is 78. Heat mat. Day/night cycle. My female eats one and is looking for more. Same set up as the male. She's twice the size of him.

This is the only snake of mine that does this. I've waited 10 days to feed him. I thought for sure he held it down but this is the second time its happened. He's super mellow compared to the female. She's ready to explore and is super active. He's drinking water but just can't hold his food down.

There are no lumps on his body no mites no nothing. I have no idea what's up with him. Is a trip to the vet in my near future?"

I think a trip to the vet would be a good idea if for no other reason he can give you some insight you dont already have and possibly find a solution.

Has your snake had a fecal done? Parasites are a common cause of chronic regurgitation. Also, your basking area is a bit low.

I'd try the vet, a fecal test, and in the meantime maybe smaller food. But I think BB is correct.

i don't keep bull snakes but 83F seems a liitle cool for a hot side

snakes need enough heat to allow digestion

could hot end temps be a factor ?

A trip to vet is first on the list if he's regurg'd I'd say.

After you've done that I would lift his hot side or give him a hide where it's extra warm that he can goto if need be. See where he ends up.

How often do you change his substrate?

You could look into a pro-biotic that Petco sells for birds/reptiles that I've read helps settle their stomachs after they regurg. Also try crushing up his food to help him digest it easier, it's worked for my King.

I also gave my king a basking spot, before he was regurging he was running on 100% UTH heat. Since then I have given him a rock that sits at 90F degrees that he will lay on when he's digesting now.
