What I did with my evening
Instead of homework, I went to the local speed-shop where my buddy was scheduled to get his car tuned. Unfortunately the night ended before he could get a complete run in due to fuel issues, but we're thinking 350-400hp is a fair estimate.
This looks so much better with dual exhaust like the bumper was designed for. Previously had one big fartcan on the back.
Scott and Chad discussing the infernal contraption
OOOOH... not... shiny?
shop cat approves.
Getting a new powersteering pump so it doesn't turn into my first rx7.
So how does this thing work? Oh right...
Wastegate dump burn marks, this is Jared, owner and builder of the car.
Fireball...
I'm rather excited I managed to get that last picture. If you've ever tried taking a picture of a car shooting a fireball you know its more luck than skill most of the time.

Re: What I did with my evening
Pretty cool stuff. RX7s are interesting cars. They don't fit me though.

I'm a car guy too!
I just put a deposit down on something special.
I'll give you a few hints: - 390 horsepower
- qtr mile in 13.3 seconds
- 0-60 in 4.8
any guesses?

sounds like a tank with a dodge badge and "hemi" under the hood.
This motor has been through so much I'm honestly extremely surprised it hasn't popped. Its originally from his first car which he wrecked and we then dropped it in here. It also orignally wasn't turbo'd so its got the high compression rotors. I honestly have no idea who it hasn't blown up but whatever.
RX7s barely fit me. The second gen is a bit roomier than my 3rd gen, I'm a little curious to see how I fit with my helmet on. Since mine will be a relatively dedicated track car that sees some street time I'm probably gonna pull the seat rail and bolt a low profile bucket seat to the floor and get a slightly smaller steering wheel. The passenger side might get a low profile sliding rail and a more comfortable bucket. We'll see how heavy my pockets feel in a few months.
To put the power level of this car into perspective it has roughly the same power to weight ratio as a brand new Corvette Z06. We're really looking forward to running this down the track.

Re: What I did with my evening
Now there's a car to rip around at 9000! Great dual flame shot, that deserves to be framed!!
