Tapalpa Ruthveni

These ruthveni are a little different than most offered in the hobby. Most of the ruthveni you see today originated from Amealco, Queretaro Mexico. These were once sold as Jalisco milksnakes, but we now know they are ruthveni. These have a brighter red and very thin clean white bands. Probably one of the nicest ruthveni offered. IMHO.

Gravid Female

Male

Amealco Ruthveni for comparison

Thanks, hoping to produce some "Diablo" phase animals from this pair. Shannon Brown coined the name for an animals he produced that the white bands didn't connect at the dorsal portion of the animal. So it would look like a red stripe all the way down the back. With the black and white bands ending on the lateral portion (sides) of the snake.

I've seen the males try numerous times.......
Actually I've had a couple Tapalpa females regurge after running from the males so much after eating............
The Diablo girl has had her pre ovulation shed but none of the others have......She is feeling like she is ovulating now......

The Amealcos are going crazy breeding....even the 30+ old male......I hope I get at least one more clutch of progeny from him this year....

And the Jalpans hooked up yesterday.......

Now all we need are some Hidalgos.......lol

NOT soon enough in my opinion....
I live a few hours from them and can't legally bring some across......
They have to make a thousand mile trip over the pond before they can get here and there's no telling what those Brits will cross them with....LOL
