Nicki's not eatting
Hey Guys,
I'm very worried about my two-year old Female Ball Python, Nicki! She's down to 614grams and the last time i feed her she was feb. 8th, she was 779grams so she lost a total of 165grams and I don't know what to do, Should i get her a live Fizzie Mouse???? then I weight her on the feb. 19th and she was 735gram. then when i weighted her on march 16th, she was 703grams. The top or first weight was from last night!!! I don't went to feed live to her, but I'm sacred i might have to?

Re: Nicki's not eatting
You need to give us full details of her enclosure - size, heat, humidity, substrate type etc etc etc
The more info you can give the better advice you will get - how long have you had her?

Your temp is way too high! At the hot end, it should be around 90-95 degrees. The cool side should be 75-80 degrees. Please check this care sheet out that a posted above, here it is again:

Re: Nicki's not eatting
The heat is quite likely your issue, drop it down as above, leave the snake a week and then try feeding it then - let us know how it goes.

Re: Nicki's not eatting
No need for all the exclamation points- no one is yelling at you. We are just trying to help. What I think is confusing people is that you mentioned that you had the heat set at 104.7, then in your next post you say that the temps are 90 at the back of the tub and 70 at the front, because you are using back heat to heat the tub.
What kind of gauge are you using to measure your temps? A digital temp gun is the only reliable, accurate way. If you have those little stick-on dials, throw them out. They will do you no good. If your temps are truly 90F in the back of your tub and 70F in the front, why mention 104.7F at all?
I find it odd that you can get that much of a gradient in a 32-qt Sterilite tub. I doubt it can really vary by 20 whole degrees, unless you have some serious draft problems in your room or your room is cold overall. If you truly do have the heat tape set at 104, and are only getting 90F ambient in your hot spot, with 70F in your cold end,....I would start searching for drafts and reasons why you are losing so much heat. Inadequate temperatures and drafts may be your problem.
How is Nicki's breathing? Does she make any whistling, popping, or wheezing sounds when breathing? Is there any mucous coming out of her mouth or nostrils?

Re: Nicki's not eatting
Guys,
Other then not eating, she's active and she poops and is breathing ok!! I'm wondering if its the fact that she's two years old and wants to breed!! Micki her mate is three! but My mom and dad wouldn't let me breed them!!! any idea!!!! I had a scare with micky a few mouths about, cause the bottom two bin stay cool, and most of the heat stays on the top three bins!!! and part of the reason the heat is so high is, I'm on the third floor and its always cool up here!!!

Re: Nicki's not eatting
I don't get why it's set to 107, where is your probe(s)? If the probe is correctly placed you shouldn't have to set it higher than what you want. It doesn't matter whether it's belly heat or not.
That could create a big problem.

Re: Nicki's not eatting
Your husbandry sounds good, but a weight loss like she's been experiencing is really bad news. Try feeding live. If not, get a blood smear and a fecal done at the vet.
