Does anyone tend to a pond?
I'd like to know if the muck on the bottom make good fertilizer?
Anyone at all?

Re: Does anyone tend to a pond?
I've never tried using the muck from my pond as fertilizer. I suppose it would enrich the soil quite nicely if you feel like getting it out

Re: Does anyone tend to a pond?
We're draining the pond anyway and planting grass seed, so we thought we'd recycle some muck if it's a good idea.

Re: Does anyone tend to a pond?
At the cottage we have a little pond and when we clean the filter throughout the summer and clean it out at the end of summer we always do it above the garden, I don't know if it makes a positive difference, but the plants don't seem to mind at all

Re: Does anyone tend to a pond?
Yes the muck is great, it is mostly broken down algae, plant matter and decomposed tadpoles & drowned worms.
Muck is great for enriching soil.

Thank you! That's what we thought, just wanted to confirm.
Thanks all.
